Master Electronics at EDS Leadership Summit 2025
At the 2025 EDS Leadership Summit in Las Vegas, Paige West, Managing Editor of Procurement Pro, caught up with Cristian Stanciu, Vice President of Sales at Master Electronics, to discuss the company’s evolving strategy, digital transformation, and outlook for the year ahead.
Master Electronics, a family-owned distributor founded in 1967, positions itself as a real stocking distributor. It holds deep and broad inventory across suppliers and serves predominantly small to medium-sized OEMs through an inside-sales-driven model.
“We want to stock the most part numbers of every supplier,” Stanciu explained, when talking about the company’s commitment to availability and fast service.
In response to market shifts, Master Electronics has focused on building deeper relationships with fewer customers. “We paired down customers to only 40 or 50 per salesperson so we can drive those relationships deeper,” he said. This targeted approach, combined with its mantra of “speed, stock, and service,” is what Stanciu says sets it apart in a competitive distribution landscape.
A key area of investment for the company has been digital transformation. “We want to quote and sell smarter, so we’re bringing a lot of tools to our salespeople – real-time tools – on how to engage with customers better; with that means AI and data-driven decisions,” Stanciu said, making artificial intelligence and data-driven central to how the company quotes, sells, and supports customers. These tools, paired with transparent customer engagement through portals and real-time data, reflect a broader push for operational efficiency and responsiveness.
Master Electronics is also prioritising supplier relationships and strategic inventory positioning. “We’re adding more suppliers and positioning ourselves with more inventory,” he confirmed. Product-wise, demand remains high in IP&E, interconnect, passive, and electromechanical categories, particularly in industrial, aerospace, defence, energy, automation, and semiconductor equipment sectors.
When asked about how Master Electronics is supporting customers through volatile market conditions, Stanciu pointed to robust bonding programmes and excess inventory strategies: “We tend to stock it before they need it … In times of excess, we help them mitigate that with specific programmes.”
Despite tariff-driven hesitations in early 2025, Stanciu remains confident: “We’re bullish on the rest of the year.” His final message to partners and customers illuminates Master Electronic’s commitment to relationship-building: “Whether it’s a supplier, a rep, or a customer, we want to invest in our relationships. We’re all in.”
With 32 representatives attending EDS, Master Electronics made it clear that it is doubling down on connections and capabilities for the year ahead.
